Autumn/Winter 2026
This autumn, in painfully quick succession, I've been deeply disturbed by two revelations: first, the heinous acts associated with the Cornell Seven, and shortly thereafter, learning that a video essayist whose work had often inspired me had sexually assaulted someone during his college years. In both cases, there appeared to be little or no meaningful accountability. What troubles me most of all is that neither revelation entirely surprised me. I find it difficult to put into words just how profoundly upsetting that realization is.It's easy to feel powerless in the face of such things, but I don't want that feeling to become an excuse for inaction. For the remainder of this year, I'll be donating $500 each month to RAINN, (R#pe, Abuse & Inc#st National Network), the organization behind the National Sexual Assault Hotline. And to anyone reading this: if you've experienced something that made you feel unsafe, violated, or that crossed the boundaries of your consent, please know that you don't have to navigate it alone. Even if you're uncertain about what happened, or whether what you experienced was wrong, there are people who will listen. You deserve to be heard. You deserve to be treated with dignity. You deserve to feel safe. Please, don't ever let anyone convince you otherwise.800.656.4673
